Gawa Chuu — Charity
Inspired by Buddhist principles of service and generosity, Gawa Chuu was born from a desire to give back meaningfully. After several years working with an NGO in Bhutan, we wanted to pursue projects guided by our own vision, rooted in love for nature and care for communities.
Our charitable work blends mindful design, practical impact, and sustainability, creating initiatives that uplift both people and the environment. Every project is an expression of service, connection, and conscious action — transforming ideas into acts of compassion that make a lasting difference.
Gosainjunda Lake Waste Management
We propose a Meditation Hut Environmental Cleanup Initiative at Gosainkunda Lake, Nepal to combine spiritual retreat with urgent conservation: clean up existing rubbish, build a sustainable off-grid tiny house for meditation, upgrade waste management, fund the cleanup, employ and train a local cleaner, and run education programs.
The area suffers from broken bins and no organised collection, leaving the landscape littered and harming its ecological and spiritual value. Our plan: begin with a thorough cleanup, construct and rent the hut to generate ongoing revenue for maintenance, install durable eco-friendly bins, employ locals to manage waste, and run workshops to raise awareness. Expected impacts include a cleaner Gosainkunda, preserved sacred landscape, increased tourism revenue for the community, and empowered locals and visitors practicing sustainable waste habits. Please donate to help restore Gosainkundas natural beauty and support a lasting, community-led conservation and mindfulness project.
Bhutan Glory Ecotrail Treehouse Project: creating a sustainable treehouse retreat in the forests near Youphula, West Bhutan where visitors can immerse in pristine jungle and see the rare Bhutan Glory butterfly; this ecotourism initiative links conservation and community support — proceeds fund habitat restoration and wildlife protection, and sustainable livelihoods for local people — and we are seeking $18,000 to complete the project; please support the building of this initiative and help empower the community for generations to come.
In the past year we completed a lighting and electrical training programme in Bhutan, installing safe electrical systems at Trashigang Zhong, Bumthang Zhong and numerous other temples. The programme also trains local electricians to European standards to reduce the risk of electrical fires and help protect these important cultural and spiritual sites for future generations.
