Giving from the Heart

We propose a Meditation Hut Environmental Cleanup Initiative at Gosainkunda Lake, Nepal to combine spiritual retreat with urgent conservation: clean up existing rubbish, build a sustainable off-grid tiny house for meditation, upgrade waste management, fund the cleanup, employ and train a local cleaner, and run education programs.

The area suffers from broken bins and no organised collection, leaving the landscape littered and harming its ecological and spiritual value. Our plan: begin with a thorough cleanup, construct and rent the hut to generate ongoing revenue for maintenance, install durable eco-friendly bins, employ locals to manage waste, and run workshops to raise awareness. Expected impacts include a cleaner Gosainkunda, preserved sacred landscape, increased tourism revenue for the community, and empowered locals and visitors practicing sustainable waste habits. In the past year we completed a lighting and electrical training programme in Bhutan, installing safe electrical systems at Trashigang Zhong, Bumthang Zhong and numerous other temples. The programme also trains local electricians to European standards to reduce the risk of electrical fires and help protect these important cultural and spiritual sites for future generations.
